"Kvarði" button

The round buttons for the men's costume come in three different sizes.

The "kvarði" button is the largest button, and only one is used at the top of the trousers - at the waistband, known as the "kvarði".

Our buttons are 925 sterling silver and handmade in our workshop in Tórshavn.

Silver for the men's costume:

• Waistcoat: 7 waistcoat buttons.
• Jacket: 24 jacket buttons and one set of "stimi" buttons (more "stimi" buttons can be used, both at the top and bottom of the jacket).
• Trousers, at the top: 4 jacket buttons and one "kvarði" (trouser) button.
• Knees: 2x5 waistcoat buttons, or 2x3 waistcoat buttons and a breeches buckle.
